The former captain of the Indian side, Suryakumar Yadav, has shown his full support to the opening batter of the blue brigade, Abhishek Sharma, as the latter went through a tough T20I series of three matches against Zimbabwe at the Harare Sports Club, which the visitors went on to win by a 0-3 margin. 

Suryakumar has been dropped from the Indian side after the end of the T20 World Cup 2026, which they went on to win under his leadership. Shreyas Iyer has been appointed as the new leader of the national side in his place.

Suryakumar has posted his comment on the emotional post of Abhishek Sharma, as he backed the opening batter for what he had done in the last two years. He expects the opening batter to regain his form.
