A new season of the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL 2025) is set to ignite from today. The very first match of the campaign will be between the defending champion, Dindigul Dragons, and the runner-up team of the previous season, Lyca Kovai Kings. In the final of last season, Dragons lifted the trophy by defeating Kings only by 6 wickets.
Like the previous seasons, both these teams are well prepared with a strong squad to offer hard challenges to the opponents. According to stats and multiple parameters, Dindigul Dragons can have a slight advantage over Kovai Kings; Shivam Singh is one of the main reasons behind the prediction. Shivam Singh, the former Punjab Kings player, has always made standout performances in Tamil Nadu Premier League matches. In the last edition of the Tamil Nadu Premier League, he was the top run scorer for Dragons with 364 runs to his name. In this season too, the top-order batter will try to accumulate as many runs as possible to justify his talent.
Singh's last 5 batting performances for Dindigul:
- 4 runs vs. Kovai
- 64 runs vs. Chepauk
- 70 runs vs. Nellai
- 106* runs vs. Madurai
- 36 runs vs. Kovai
