Usman Tariq's nets bowling session for Birmingham Phoenix went viral after England footballer and Phoenix shareholder Jude Bellingham couldn't resist dropping a comment on the video

England footballer Jude Bellingham attended The Hundred 2026 clash between the Birmingham Phoenix and the Welsh Fire at Edgbaston in Birmingham. The co-owner of the franchise enjoyed the action from the stands and also spent time interacting with the Pakistan players, Usman Tariq and Fatima Sana, during his visit.
After gaining success at the FIFA World Cup 2026 for the England side, Bellingham returned home during the off-season. He previously revealed that cricket has been his favourite sport to watch outside football.
How Birmingham Phoenix's cheeky Instagram bait got Bellingham to reply
The broadcaster shared a video of Bellingham as mystery spinner Usman Tariq, bowled to the England midfielder before the pair shared a warm hug. Bellingham enjoyed swinging the bat during the light-hearted cross-sport interaction. He also met the women’s captain of the Pakistan side, Fatima Sana, during the double-header at Edgbaston.

The interactions gained popularity on social media, with the fans enjoying the meeting between the football star and the Pakistan players. Bellingham bought a 1.2% stake in Phoenix’s side earlier this year as he jointly owns the Warwickshire County club and Knighthead Capital, the investment group that also owns Birmingham Football Club.
Before the Men’s Hundred 2026 clash, the footballer walked onto the field and handed the match coin to Phoenix captain Donovan Ferreira for the toss.

Playing for the Phoenix, Tariq has collected two wickets in The Hundred 2026 campaign out of four innings at an average of 52.50 and a strike rate of 37.50 and an economy rate of 8.40, thanks to the best figures of 2/36. However, he could pick up a single wicket in three games of the season.

In T20Is, he has collected 18 wickets in eight innings for Pakistan at an average of 11.16 and a strike rate of 10 and an economy rate of 6.66.
