Watch: Vaibhav Sooryavanshi smashes 4,6,4,4 against Richard Ngarava — ZIM vs IND 2nd T20I

After his maiden international half-century in the opening T20I of the three-match series against Zimbabwe at the Harare Sports Club, the young sensational batter, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, smashed three boundaries and one six against Richard Ngarva to continue his onslaught against the same opponents. 

Having failed during his previous three games in England, Sooryavanshi hoped to do well against Zimbabwe and cement his position in the playing eleven. After a successful Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 for the Rajasthan Royals (RR), the expectations were huge on the youngster.

Sooryavanshi managed only two runs in his first four balls of the innings before he decided to open his arms and smash Richard Ngarava around the park for a flurry of boundaries. On the second delivery of the third over, the southpaw pulled the short delivery in front of square and collected his first boundary of the game.

On the very next delivery, the Bihar-born flexed his arms as the left-arm pacer offered him pace outside the off stump. He pulled it over the wide long-on region and sent it all the way for a massive six.

That was followed by two consecutive boundaries in the over. On the fourth delivery, the 15-year-old decided to charge down the wicket and converted it to a full delivery and lofted it over the mid-off region for a boundary. That was followed by another boundary over the mid-off region.

However, the bowler had the last laugh, sending back Vaibhav Sooryavanshi on the final ball of the third over for 20 runs off just nine deliveries.

After the return of both the openers for India, Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer offered them solidity with 66 runs off 42 balls for the third wicket, while Kishan partnered Tilak Varma for another 94-run stand in just 43 balls for the fourth wicket.

The Jharkhand wicket-keeper batter smashed 81 runs off just 44 balls in the innings at a strike rate of 184.09 with the help of nine boundaries and a couple of sixes, while Varma remained unbeaten on 60 runs off 29 balls to finish with 219/5 in their allotted 20 overs.
