Varun Chakravarthy, the popular spinner of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the IPL, recently went to a construction site and referred to it as his "OG playground." He posted a picture on social media from the site, indicating his attachment to his previous life prior to cricket. The visit was a reminder to fans that Varun was an architect prior to being a professional cricketer.

Prior to embarking on his cricket career, Varun was studying architecture at Tamil Nadu's SRM University. He spent two years working as an architect, designing structures and completing various projects. To everyone's surprise, he had always been fascinated with cricket—it was even included in his college project, and he designed a cricket stadium.

Presently representing KKR in IPL 2025, Varun is doing great on the field. In the previous match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, he took 3 wickets and gave away only 22 runs in 4 overs. His next game is against Chennai Super Kings on April 11 at MA Chidambaram Stadium, where the fans are eager to see his performance once again.
