Abhishek Sharma and Digvesh Rathi get involved in verbal spat

During Match 61 of IPL 2025 between Lucknow Super Giants and Sunrisers Hyderabad, a fiery exchange took place when Digvesh Rathi dismissed Abhishek Sharma. This happened in the eighth over of Sunrisers Hyderabad's run chase. Rathi deceived Abhishek with a brilliant googly. When Shardul Thakur caught the ball in the deep, Rathi celebrated his unique public "notebook celebration" style of celebration where he waved two fingers while writing in the air, and he quickly followed it up with an animated reaction. This reaction didn't go unnoticed by the outgoing Abhishek, and the two exchanged some tense words as the players crossed paths on the field.

Clearly annoyed by the excessive celebration, Abhishek Sharma walked over to Digvesh Rathi in protest. The confrontation almost turned into a full-blown fight, but on-field umpires and other players quickly stepped in to defuse the situation. They yelled at each other and exchanged words illustrating how hot it was at that moment.
