“So much proud of you”- Sneh Rana hugged Jemimah Rodrigues as soon as the right-handed entered the middle after putting a fine unbeaten knock of 127 runs in 134 balls with the help of 14 boundaries at a strike rate of 94.78 to complete the chase of 339 runs against Australia Women for India Women’s during the second semifinal of the World Cup 2025 at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai.
The chase could have been different had Rodrigues not notched up a fine partnership of 167 runs for the third wicket with captain Harmanpreet Kaur, who celebrated 89 runs in 88 balls, decorated with 10 boundaries at a strike rate of 101.14.

“I am so blessed that I have, when I cannot carry on, my teammates encourage me to carry on. I can't take credit for any of this. I know I have done nothing. (on the crowd) Navi Mumbai has always been special for me. And I couldn't ask for anything better. I would like to thank every member who chanted, who shouted, who believed, who cheered.” Rodrigues expressed in the post-match presentation.

Earlier in the afternoon, Australia’s captain, Alyssa Healy, won the toss and decided to bat first, which was a baffling decision despite knowing the dew factor. The home side decided to bring Shafali Verma in the opening position along with Richa Ghosh and Kranti Gaud returning into the eleven.
Australia posted 338 runs in the first innings of the clash, thanks to a fine knock of 119 runs in 93 balls from Phoebe Litchfield with the help of 17 boundaries and three sixes at a strike rate of 127.96. Later, Asleigh Gardner smacked 63 runs in 45 balls at a strike rate of 140 with the help of four boundaries and four sixes.
India has now qualified for the final of the Women’s World Cup after eight years and will face South Africa on November 02 at the same venue in Navi Mumbai.
