David Warner, whose career is now associated with commentary as he has been doing in the Ashes 2025/26 series between Australia and England, has marked a significant comeback with the bat after a string of low scores in this event. It was not a great start for the Thunder, who lost their first wicket on the very first ball of the innings.

It was followed by a second ball wicket of Sam Konstas as they found themselves none for 2 in the 2nd ball of the first innings before Warner shouldered the responsibility with his knock of 11 boundaries and nine sixes. However, the middle order contributed as expected, as they could make themselves 205 for four in their allotted 20 overs.
