With multiple Bollywood stars and celebrities, the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai got another evening to be remembered for a long time. It was the same venue where the women's team of India won their maiden World Cup trophy.
In today's ceremony, Honey Singh appeared as the showstopper with his back-to-back hit songs. Harmanpreet Kaur, captain of Mumbai Indians (MI), and Smriti Mandhana, captain of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), accompanied Singh for a while during the live performance. Actor Jacqueline Fernandez, singer Yo Yo Honey Singh and Miss Universe 2021 Harnaaz Sandhu are the major attractions of the ceremony.
WPL shared a moment of Honey Singh's energetic performance from the official social media account with the caption, "Grooving to the tunes... The energetic Honey Singh lights up the #TATAWPL opening ceremony in style."

For the opening match of the tournament, two titans of the contest are up against each other. Mumbai Indians and RCB: both teams have firepower and had previous experience in winning the league. Though, as of now, MI has the highest success rate in the history of the tournament.
Apart from Kaur and Mandhana, fans have a lot of expectations for the other star players like Richa Ghosh, Shreyanka Patil, Ellyse Perry, and Nat Sciver-Brunt.
