Watch: Jasprit Bumrah’s brilliant delivery sends de Kock to pavilion in IND vs SA T20 World Cup 2026 super 8 match
Jasprit Bumrah stunned South Africa with a brilliant middle-stump delivery to dismiss Quinton de Kock early in the IND vs SA Super 8 clash at the T20 World Cup 2026.

The Super Eight clash between India and South Africa at the Narendra Modi Stadium started off with a bang. South Africa won the toss and elected to bat first in the lights. But their innings didn’t get off to a good start as they were reduced to 12/2 in 2.4 overs. India’s bowlers began with a solid intent and the visitors were under instant pressure.
The crowd at the Narendra Modi Stadium made the atmosphere electric as India’s pace attack looked sharp from the very first ball. The South African batters struggled to settle because of the tight and disciplined bowling. The Indian players did not allow them to score freely. Taking early wickets helped India gain full control during the Powerplay overs.
The first big moment came in the second over when Jasprit Bumrah delivered a brilliant ball. Bowling at 137 kph, he hit a good length outside off stump before the ball moved sharply back in. Quinton de Kock tried to attack after hitting a boundary earlier in the over. But he completely misjudged the pace and movement of the delivery.
Bumrah’s Perfect Delivery Breaks the Game Open
The ball went between bat and pad and clipped the top of middle stump, sending the bail into the air. De Kock was taken aback in disappointment as the stadium was filled with celebrations. Bumrah smiled as he celebrated a perfect wicket that got rid of South Africa’s most dangerous opener for a mere 6. It was a massive breakthrough that changed the momentum in favor of India.

This was followed by even more pressure as Arshdeep Singh got Aiden Markram out. South Africa was in trouble early on in the innings. The fast bowlers of India were on top of their game in the Powerplay and left South Africa struggling to recover from the initial shock.
As of writing, South Africa are 36/3 in 5.3 overs, with David Miller and Dewald Brevis at the crease as India keep the pressure on in the Powerplay.
