The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) hosted the CSK Roar'26 event ahead of the start of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 on March 22 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. The purpose of the event was to bring together some of the former players for a better fan experience. The tickets were open for the fans to book on March 15 to witness the event live.

After years, players like MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Dwayne Bravo, Mike Hussey, and many other players were seen together. It was a day curated just for the fans to watch their favourites under one roof once again and watch them play together. Following the meet and greet and practice sessions, the fans will also witness a live show by AR Rahman, who will perform in front of the audience, keeping them hooked.

CSK Roar’ 26 event highlights before IPL 2026

The CSK Roar' 26 event started at 4.30 PM with the current players, including MS Dhoni, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and others, practising in front of the crowd. The fans went crazy as the former players, 'OG Gang', entered the field led by Suresh Raina. The group featured former players, including Matthew Hayden, Murali Vijay, Subramaniam Badrinath, and Dwayne Bravo. They batted with the current team and hit some shots out of the park.

However, the final and most entertaining segment of the line-up, the concert by Oscar-winning singer AR Rahman, will start at 7 PM IST. He is one of the best singers in the country and will entertain the crowd with his songs. The Chepauk Stadium is all set to get converted into a concert arena as Rahman will perform for 90 minutes.

The Dhoni-Raina moment holds a special place in the hearts of the CSK fans who have seen them since childhood. The players were an integral part of the Super Kings' setup, batting together and winning matches for the team. The fans have made it clear: they miss Raina and want him back in the set-up. If we look at his relationship with the franchise, he can bag a spot as a fielding coach or batting coach in the upcoming years.
