The last couple of months have been phenomenal for the Indian Test captain, Shubman Gill, who got the responsibility for the seven-week campaign after Rohit Sharma decided to announce his retirement from the longest format of the game. Gill met the Star Sports to reveal his inside details in a fun video.

On the first question of his favorite shot to play in the shortest format, Gill went with the pull-shot, even though that has been glorified as a special shot from Rohit Sharma. The Punjab-born selected the former legendary batter of world cricket, Sachin Tendulkar, as his dream batting partner in the game, while he feels playing video games is more fun than playing reels.

On choosing his go-to Punjab food, Gill decided to go with Butter Chicken and Lacha Paratha. Playing FIFA is the non-cricketing skill Gill is good at, as he mentioned in the video. The veteran also claimed that he would invite Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, and Sir Vivian Richards for Dinner.

India’s red-ball captain picked Ishan Kishan as the best dancer from the Blue Brigade in a Baraat (marriage ceremony). The Jharkhand wicket-keeper batter also turned out to be Gill’s 3 am friend, while he went on to reveal his love and affection for buying new watches. And finally, on picking three things he can’t live without, the right-handed batter went with his wallet, Phone, and family.

The 26-year-old has featured in 55 ODI innings to smash 2775 runs at an average of 59 and a strike rate of nearly 100 with the help of 15 half-centuries and eight centuries at the best score of 208. In Tests, he smacked 2647 runs in 69 innings at an average of 41.35 with seven fifties and nine centuries at the best score of 269.

Gill became the vice-captain of the Blue Brigade for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025, which is going to begin on September 09. On the following day, they will start their campaign against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium before facing Pakistan four days later at the same venue.
