[WATCH] Suryakumar Yadav's no-look attempt ends India's 15-toss losing streak vs UAE in Asia Cup 2025
Watch the Indian T20I captain, Suryakumar Yadav, making a no-look attempt at the toss during the clash against the United Arab Emirates in the Men's Asia Cup 2025 to end their 15-toss losing streak.

India came into their opening encounter of the Asia Cup 2025 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) after losing 15-tosses. This included the Champions Trophy and the five-match Test series against England in the United Kingdom under the leadership of red-ball captain, Shubman Gill.
The pressure of tosses could be massive in the shortest format, especially for games where dew could prove to be a massive factor in the second innings. Suryakumar Yadav came to the toss of their opening game of the Asia Cup 2025 and lifted the coin without looking at the sky. And luckily, it felt in India’s way as they ended their streak of losing 15 tosses.

“We'll bowl first. Looks like a nice fresh wicket. Humid today, might be dewy later. If we get an opportunity, we're flexible to do anything, but today we want to bowl. We came here early, had 3-4 good practice sessions, and also a day off.” Sky expressed in the presentation of the toss.

There was no surprise in the top order of the Blue Brigade for the encounter, as Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill are expected to open the batting. Interestingly, the national side kept Sanju Samson in the middle order instead of Jitesh Sharma as the wicket-keeper batter, while the biggest omission was of the left-arm pacer, Arshdeep Singh, as India opted to go with Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya.
UAE started the game with full aggression as Alishan Sharafu clubbed two successive boundaries on the opening over of Hardik Pandya before he flicked Jasprit Bumrah for a boundary. He also played a lovely inside-out shot over the covers against Axar Patel for a six before the official hosts made a comeback.
Bumrah broke the stumps of Sharafu for 22 runs in 17 balls, while Muhammad Zohaib went back to the dressing room for two runs in five balls. Mohammed Wasseem, the leader of the side, drilled Bumrah for three fours to end the powerplay with 41/2.
