WATCH: Virat Kohli’s heartwarming reply when asked about Anushka Sharma during an event

A few days ago, the fans got the first appearance of Virat Kohli after he announced his Test retirement just three weeks before the start of the five-match series between England and India. Even though the veteran has stepped away from the game in the longest format, he is still winning several hearts with his heartwarming gestures on various occasions. 

The former Indian captain recently made a public appearance in London during a charity event, hosted by his former team-mate and the famous all-rounder, Yuvraj Singh. The event saw many other ex-players, including Brian Lara, Kevin Pietersen, and Sachin Tendulkar, turn up along with the current red-ball series. The program was for supporting Yuvraj’s YouWeCan Foundation.

However, amidst all the players and the legends, it was Virat Kohli’s simple and sweet gesture that stole the show and the internet. A video went viral on social media where Kohli was seen seated next to the former England batter, Pietersen. One of the unseen friends asked Kohli about his family, to which the veteran waved his hands from a distance.

It didn’t stop there. It seemed like Kohli’s friend asked him about his wife, Anushka Sharma, the famous Bollywood actress, and his children. The dinner event was just a few days after Kohli and Anushka were spotted enjoying the Wimbledon 2025 Round, where they watched the Tennis game between the legendary Novak Djokovic and Australia’s Alex de Minaur, where the former defeated the latter. This was Kohli’s very first appearance before the public since they won their maiden title in the IPL 2025 for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).

The Delhi-born ended his Test career as the country’s fourth leading run-getter with 9230 runs in 210 innings at an average of 46.85, shouldering 30 centuries and 31 half-centuries at the best score of unbeaten 254 runs. He is expected to turn for the national side if they make the probable trip to Sri Lanka. Otherwise, he will fly to Australia for the upcoming ODI series in September.
