[WATCH] Yashasvi Jaiswal celebrates 7th Test century during IND vs WI Delhi Test
Watch the video where the left-handed opening batter of the Indian side, Yashasvi Jaiswal, has celebrated his seventh century in the longest format during IND vs WI Delhi Test to break multiple records.

Yashasvi Jaiswal got a start in the opening Test of the two-match series against the West Indies at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. However, he failed to convert the start into a big score. The aim for the left-handed batter was to again start from scratch and gain a huge score against a weak-looking opposition.
During the second clash at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, Jaiswal started well by seeing off the new ball against Jayden Seales and Anderson Philip. Even though KL Rahul took the aggressive route from the other end, Jaiswal was not keen to do so from the start as he walked his way to the lunch break.
However, he changed his tactics and smashed three boundaries in four balls against Seales on the very first over after the break to celebrate his half-century. Once he got the hands right, there was no looking back as he kept nailing the big shots around the park to get near his century.

One of the best aspects of the knock for Jaiswal was how he balanced the aggression and the importance of taking singles during the encounter. Whenever there was a need to rotate the strike, he didn’t miss out, which is quite important in the longest format of the game. On the opening ball of the 51st over, he came back for a couple to complete his seventh Test century.
Jaiswal has now smashed seven Test centuries since his debut, which is the most at the opening position in this period. England’s Ben Duckett is second on the list with four centuries as an opener. On the other hand, he has the joint-most centuries with Shubman Gill overall, which is only behind Joe Root’s nine Test centuries.
Jaiswal has now also notched up seven Test hundreds, which is the second-most Test centuries for an Indian batter before getting to the age of 24. Sachin Tendulkar has the most hundreds (11) before becoming 24. Among openers, Jaiswal equals the former South Africa opening batter and captain, Graeme Smith, in this record.
