Abhishek Sharma delivered one of the most explosive knocks of Indian Premier League 2026, smashing an unbeaten 135 off 68 balls for Sunrisers Hyderabad against Delhi Capitals on April 21 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. The young batter opened the innings after Axar Patel chose to field and he maintained his dominant performance throughout the match which led SRH to a total of 242 runs with two wickets lost.

The left-hander maintained complete dominance of his inning as he struck 10 fours and 10 sixes. The opposition bowlers struggled against his powerful batting style which allowed him to score runs at any time while he batted through the entire match to help SRH achieve one of their highest seasonal scores.

The former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh used X (formerly Twitter) to praise Abhishek's performance after the match. His message quickly became popular among fans and the cricketing community.

Yuvraj wrote his approval of Abhishek's performance by saying "Let the bat do the work! Yuvraj praised the young player because he showed improvement and maintained his cool composure. Yuvraj has developed a close relationship with Abhishek through his work with young Indian cricketers which makes his praise for Abhishek more significant.

Abhishek Sharma equals Virat Kohli’s T20 milestone

Abhishek Sharma achieved his ninth T20 century through his outstanding century performance which brought him the record for most T20 centuries by an Indian player.

Abhishek’s tally includes:

  • 2 IPL centuries for SRH
  • 2 T20I centuries for India
  • 5 centuries in domestic T20 cricket

His hundred came off just 47 balls, making him the first Indian batter to register multiple IPL centuries in under 50 deliveries. Abhishek's quick ascent to success continues while Chris Gayle holds the record for T20 centuries with 22 which Babar Azam and David Warner follow with 12 and 10 respectively. Abhishek Sharma shows his exceptional T20 abilities at 24 years old because experts and fans predict he will achieve numerous match-winning performances throughout his career.
