The former Pakistan captain, Yousuf Yohana, after the refusal of the Indian team to shake hands with the Pakistan players during the Asia Cup 2025 contest at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, made an abusive comment on the Indian T20I captain, Suryakumar Yadav, where he called the Mumbai-born suar (pig), on live TV.
After that, Yousuf faced severe backlash online for his derogatory remark against the right-handed batter after the Salman Ali Agha-led side faced a seven-wicket defeat against the Blue Brigade with 25 balls to spare. The fans questioned his ability to show respect as the former batter came up with a shocking explanation.
“I think they are not coming out of their filmy world. They are just watching their films. That one- Suarkumar Yadav!! India should be ashamed of the way they are trying to win by bringing the umpire with them or torturing the match referee. That’s high time. If you see, in that case, umpires were raising their fingers on every occasion.” Yohana wrote on their X account (formerly known as Twitter).

On the live TV, the broadcaster made the point that Sky didn’t shake hands with the Pakistan captain at the toss and continued the same trend after the end of the game. He nailed the six and walked off the ground with his partner, Shivam Dube, as the other Indian players locked themselves in the room.
“I didn’t mean any disrespect to any sportsman who plays for his country with passion and grace. But why were the Indian media and people praising Irfan Pathan when he said that Shahid Khan Afridi was barking like a dog? Shouldn’t that have been rejected by everyone who talks about dignity and respect?” Youhana told earlier in the live discussion.
Pakistan, due to the incident, filed a complaint against the Indian side for their unsporting behavior and the match referee, Andy Pycroft. They will face the UAE side on September 17 against Oman at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, where the winner will qualify for the Super 4 stage.
