An unforgettable night for Indian cricket fans. The women's cricket team won the World Cup for the first time in history. The India Women's team won the title by defeating the powerful South Africa Women's team by 52 runs at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. Shafali Varma emerged as the star of the night as she scored 87 runs off 78 balls and then picked two wickets with the ball. Deepti Sharma was named as the best player of the tournament as she claimed a total of 22 wickets, the highest wicket-taker of the tournament.

"As I said at the start, God has sent me here to do something nice, and that was reflected today. Very happy that we won, and I cannot express it in words. It was difficult, but I had confidence in myself—that if I could stay calm, I could achieve everything. My parents, my friends, my brother, and everyone supported me and helped me understand how to play," Varma said after the match.

"Honestly, this is feeling like a dream because we have not been able to come out of that emotion. Feeling really nice I could contribute this way in a World Cup final. We have always thought about how we can use the takeaways from every match. Thanks to them (the people), this would not have been possible. As a team, we are feeling very happy," Sharma said during the match presentation ceremony.
