WPL 2024: Delhi Metro revised timing for the final

Considering the final match of the WPL 2024 to be held between Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore on Sunday, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has taken a great decision to extend its services beyond its normal time as well.

However, the metro services in Delhi will run as late as 12:15 AM IST to ensure ‘safe travels’ for the fans who will come to enjoy the summit clash at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Sunday, March 17.

Delhi Metro made a great decision

“Keeping in mind the safe travels back home for fans after the WPL final, Delhi Capitals and DMRC have come together to ensure fans traveling home after the WPL final can take the metro as late as 12:15 AM. Delhi Capitals would like to express its gratitude to DMRC for helping facilitate the same and for their support,” a statement from DC read.

Notably, the Delhi Gate metro station is the closest to the Arun Jaitley Stadium as well.

DC are the firm favourites in the WPL 2024 final

As far as the game is concerned, Delhi Capitals will start the contest as favourites having topped the league stage with six wins and two losses from eight matches that helped them a direct entry into the final without having to play the Eliminator as well.

RCB, on the other hand, defeated the inaugural champions Mumbai Indians in the Eliminator on Friday to make it to their first-ever WPL final a swell. The Smriti Mandhana-led franchise had finished third on the points table having won four and lost as many of their league matches as well.

“We’ve seen throughout the tournament that there’s been some crazy cricket, some crazy finishes. So I’m expecting nothing less tomorrow. And we’re coming up against RCB who have played some excellent cricket. They’ve got match-winners, and they’ve shown that they’re able to play some great cricket when they’re under the pump. So what a great challenge for our group to go out there and have to take them on. And I’ve got full confidence that we’ll be able to deliver when we need to,” said Delhi Capitals captain Meg Lanning on Saturday.
