Watch: Zimbabwe star becomes rare player to feature in both 2007 and 2026 T20 World Cups
The star player of the Zimbabwe side has become the rare player to be part of both the 2007 and 2026 season of the Men's T20 World Cups. However, he didn't feature in between the other seasons of the event.

The star batter of the Zimbabwe side, Brendan Taylor, has made a massive record to feature in both the 2007 and 2026 T20 World Cups. In the very first edition of the event, the wicket-keeper batter was part of the national side to be part of the competition. In that season, he was out of the event after playing the first game due to injury, while the same act took place in the ongoing edition.
Brendan Taylor has smashed an overall 1216 runs in 57 innings of the shortest format at an average of 24.32 and a strike rate of 122.33 with the help of six half-centuries and one century at the best score of 123 runs. While in T20s, he has grabbed 4322 runs in 186 innings at a strike rate of 123.87 with three centuries and 26 fifties.
The former Zimbabwe captain was injured during the 2026 season of the event while featuring in the group-stage clash against Oman in the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo. The issue happened as he turned up for the double and pulled up his hamstring injury.

The Curran story is also unique, with his father, Kevin Curran, playing for Zimbabwe in the past. He had a successful career in first-class cricket with 15740 runs in 510 innings at an average of 36.86 and also picked up 605 wickets in 324 innings at an average of 27.65.
Ben’s two brothers, Sam and Tom, have also been part of the game, playing for England. Both have played for the Three Lions across the three formats. Sam was even part of the England side, under Harry Brook, that ended their campaign in the semifinal of the event, after losing to India.
