#1 Highest individual score in IPL history-

It was the group-stage clash of the IPL 2013 between the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and the Pune Warriors India (PWI) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The home side posted a massive score of 263 runs for the loss of five wickets in their allotted 20 overs when their opening batter, Chris Gayle, smashed a dashing knock of unbeaten 175 runs off 66 balls, thanks to 13 boundaries and 17 sixes.

That remains the highest individual score in IPL history, standing for more than 13 years despite the evolution of the format with more aggression with the bat. He is followed by Brendon McCullum’s unbeaten 158-run knock off just 73 balls in 2008 for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). KL Rahul sits at the third position with an unbeaten 152-run knock off 67 balls against the Punjab Kings (PBKS).

#2 Highest partnership in IPL history-

It was the group-stage contest between RCB and the Gujarat Lions (GL) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium when the hosts posted a huge score of 248 runs for the loss of three wickets in their allotted 20 overs. They lost Gayle on the penultimate ball of the fourth over with just 19 runs on the board. However, Kohli and Ab de Villiers took it to another level.

The two batters posted a massive partnership of 229 runs of the second wicket. They got those runs in just 96 balls, in which Kohli thumped 109 runs off 55 balls at a strike rate of 198.18 with the help of five boundaries and eight sixes, while de Villiers claimed an unbeaten 129 runs in 52 balls, shouldering on 10 fours and 12 sixes at a strike rate of 248.08.

#3 Most runs in a single IPL season-

The most runs by a batter in a single season of the IPL belongs to RCB’s former captain, Virat Kohli. The year 2016 was a magical year for the right-handed batter across the three formats of the game, and he continued the same even in the IPL. Kohli nailed it in that edition, which stands as a record even after 10 more seasons.

The former Indian captain claimed the record in just 16 innings at an average of 81.08 and a blistering strike rate of 152.03, thanks to his seven half-centuries and four centuries at the best score of 113 runs, as he countered 83 boundaries and 36 over boundaries in the process.

#4 Most IPL runs for a single franchise-

Not many players have been able to play for one franchise in their entire IPL career, and Kohli is part of that rare list with incredible performance over the years. He is the leading run-getter of the tournament, and in fact, all of his runs came for the same franchise, which stands as a record for the RCB side in the IPL.

Kohli came into the RCB side during the very first season in 2008 and stands at the top with 9336 runs in 275 innings at an average of 40.41 and a fine strike rate of 134.79, thanks to his nine centuries and 68 half-centuries at the best score of undefeated 113 runs. He has clubbed overall 844 boundaries and 316 sixes in his entire IPL career for the same side.

#5 Second-biggest IPL win by runs-

The second-biggest win in the IPL by runs belongs to the RCB side, when they earned a huge 144-run victory in 2016 at home against the Gujarat Lions. The 229-run stand for the second wicket between the two centurions- Kohli and de Villiers- shouldered them to 248 runs for the loss of three wickets in their allotted 20 overs. 

In reply, the Lions were bundled out for just 104 runs in 18.4 overs with only three batters getting into the double figures. Chris Jordan returned with figures of 4/11 in his three overs at an economy rate of 3.67, while Yuzvendra Chahal had figures of 3/19 in four overs.

#6 Lowest team total in IPL history-

It remains a game that no RCB fans and the players would ever remember in their lives. By then, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) were bundled out for just 131 runs batting first at the Eden Gardens during the contest in IPL 2017; thanks to Chahal’s 3/16 and the couple of two-wicket hauls from Tymal Mills and Pawan Negi, it was expected to be an easy chase for RCB.

However, Bengaluru were folded up for just 49 runs in 9.3 overs, with none of the batters able to make it into the double figures. Three KKR bowlers, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Chris Woakes, and Colin de Grandhomme, were able to pick up three-wicket hauls as Bengaluru lost the encounter by 82 runs.

#7 Joint third team to win consecutive IPL trophies-

RCB, in 2026, became the joint third team to win two consecutive IPL trophies in the event’s history. They have joined the Chennai Super Kings (winning the titles in 2010 and 2011) and the Mumbai Indians (2020 and 2021) for the record, having done the same in the two successive editions in 2025 and 2026. 

In the IPL 2025 final, RCB earned a victory by six runs when the Punjab Kings failed to complete the 190-run chase at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Meanwhile, during the IPL 2026 final, they completed the 161-run chase with two overs to spare and five wickets in hand. They would aim to be the very first side to make a hat-trick of winning IPL titles.
