Shubman Gill looked clearly upset several times on Friday, May 2, as Gujarat Titans easily beat Sunrisers Hyderabad in Ahmedabad. Was this the first time fans saw a more emotional and fired-up side of him as a Captain in the IPL.
Star Sports India commentators recently highlighted critical fielding errors made by the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) fielding unit during a match against the Gujarat Titans (GT).
In the IPL 2025 season, Gill has scored 465* runs till now. With this, he has become the only captain to score over 400 runs in this year's tournament.
Sunrisers Hyderabad fell short due to poor powerplay bowling and crucial dropped catches, allowing Gujarat Titans to post a massive total. Despite Abhishek Sharma’s valiant knock, the middle order couldn’t sustain the chase, leading to a 38-run defeat.
Gujarat Titans posted a commanding 224/6, powered by Shubman Gill's 76 off 38 and Jos Buttler's 64 off 37, dominating the SRH bowling attack. Sunrisers Hyderabad fought back with Abhishek Sharma's 74 off 41 but fell short at 186/6, as GT's bowlers, led by Prasidh Krishna's 2/19, sealed a 38-run victory.
