The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 started on June 12 at Edgbaston when the hosts, England, earned a massive victory by 87 runs against Sri Lanka, while Australia bagged a huge 65-run win against Australia to open their campaign. Both sides remained unbeaten after their second game. 

New Zealand made a bizarre start with two successive defeats against the West Indies and Sri Lanka. On the other hand, Scotland earned their memorable win over Ireland in their very first game of the event by 40 runs by bundling out the opposition for 121 in the 161-run defense.

India, under Harmanpreet Kaur, started their competition with a 64-run win over Pakistan and completed a 95-run win over the Netherlands at Leeds in Headingley. It was Smriti Mandhana’s 74-run knock of 47 balls at a strike rate of 157.45 that took them to a massive score of 209 runs. 

Most Runs — ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026

After two innings in the T20 World Cup 2026, Mandhana remains the leading run-getter of the campaign. The left-handed batter smashed 142 runs at a strike rate of 156.04, thanks to two consecutive half-centuries at the best score of 74 runs.

England’s Danielle Wyatt-Hodge ranks in second position of the table with 121 runs off two innings at an average of 121 and a fine strike rate of 155.12, thanks to the century against the Sri Lankan side.

From Group 1, India tops the points table with two successive victories as their net run rate of +3.975 is a tad more than Australia’s NRR of +3.875, who have earned the same number of wins. South Africa tried hard to lose the game against Pakistan in the 127-run chase but eventually got the win by two wickets.

From Group 2, England are at the top with two wins in as many games at a NRR of 2.763. They have shown their dominance in both the batting and bowling departments.
