The fastest fifty of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup is jointly held by New Zealand’s Sophie Devine, Australia’s Alyssa Healy, and England’s Alice Capsey, as each of them reached the milestone in 21 deliveries, heading into the 2026 edition of the tournament, which begins on June 12 between England and Sri Lanka at Edgbaston in Birmingham.

Overall, Pakistan’s captain, Fatima Sana, holds the record of the fastest T20I fifty in women’s cricket. That happened just a couple of months ago when they faced Zimbabwe at the National Stadium in Karachi. Fatima, who celebrated her half-century off just 15 balls, remained unbeaten on 62 runs off 18 deliveries at a strike rate of 326.31.

In the Women’s T20 World Cup history, the White Ferns’ batter, Suzie Bates, has enjoyed the most (08) half-centuries, followed by Alyssa Healy and Nat Sciver-Brunt’s seven half-centuries. Both Beth Mooney and Stafanie Taylor have six fifties in the list.

In T20 cricket, the impact can be massive due to these records. It tells the whole story, besides reflecting on the raw power and the ability of a player to dismantle any attack.

With every country playing its own franchise tournament, the players have developed their skills and abilities. The batters have gained experience, rubbing shoulders with each other, and have gotten better. That means more such records can be broken in the upcoming Women’s T20 World Cup.

It was the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2018 clash between New Zealand and Ireland at the Providence Stadium in Guyana. A tremendous bowling performance, led by Leigh Kasperek’s figures of 3/19 and four wickets from Amelia Kerr and Lea Tahuhu, restricted the Laura Delany-led side to 79/9 in their allotted 20 overs.

It was a great chance for the Kiwis to complete the chase in a small period and boost their net run rate. Sophie Devine smashed a fine knock of 51 runs off 22 balls with the help of seven boundaries and three sixes at a strike rate of 231.82 to shoulder them over the line by eight wickets in just 7.3 overs.

Brief Scores- NZW 81/2 (Sophie Devine 51, Laura Delany 1/9) beat IREW 79/9 (Gaby Lewis 39, Leigh Kasperek 3/19) by 8-wickets.

It was another game from the ICC T20 World Cup 2018 from the Providence Stadium between Australia and Ireland. The latter again couldn’t impress much in the batting department, getting restricted to 93/6 in their allotted 20 overs. Only four of their batters made it into the double figures as Ellyse Perry ended up with 2/12 in four overs.

Australia saw it as a great chance to complete the victory quickly to strengthen their net run rate. Even though Mooney and Perry struggled to put bat on the ball, their wicket-keeper opener, Alyssa Healy, seemed to be batting on a different track.

The right-handed batter picked the fuller ball from Kim Garth and slammed it into the night sky as the ball sailed over the long-on for a six to see Healy reach her fifty in just 18 balls. Australia gained the victory by nine wickets with 65 balls to spare.

Brief Scores- AUSW 94/1 (Alyssa Healy 56*, Kim Garth 1/17) beat IREW (Kim Garth 24*, Ellyse Perry 2/12) by 9-wickets.

Ireland seem to be everyone’s favorite opponent for scoring the fastest half-centuries in the Women’s T20 World Cups. The joint top three of the list go against this opposition, and Alice Capsey from England is the third in the table.

It was the T20 World Cup 2023 clash between England and Ireland at the Boland Park in Paarl. Under the leadership of Delany, her side got rolled over for 105 runs in 18.2 overs. Gaby Lewis got 36 runs at the opening position, but their top order struggled to make a solid contribution.

Sophie Ecclestone ended up with 3/13 in four overs, including a maiden, along with Sarah Glenn’s fine bowling of 3/19 in four overs. England, just like the other two sides, had the golden chance to get over the finishing line thanks to a quick-fire chase.

The Heather Knight-led side continued to lose wickets from one end. However, England's number three, Alice Capsey, showed power to celebrate a fifty off just 21 balls and ended up with 51 runs at a strike rate of 231.82, thanks to 10 boundaries and one six.

Brief Scores- ENGW 107/ 6 (Alice Capsey 51, Cara Murray 3/15) beat IREW 105 (Gaby Lewis 36, Sophie Ecclestone 3/13, Sarah Glenn 3/19) by 4-wickets.

It was the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2009 encounter between Australia and the West Indies at the Cooper Associates County Ground in Taunton. The latter got restricted to 135 runs for the loss of eight wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

Their opening batter, Deandra Dottin, smashed her fifty off 22 balls and ended up with 53 runs in 25 balls at a strike rate of 212, thanks to nine boundaries and one six.

Cordel Jack was the second-highest individual scorer in the line-up with 24 runs. Apart from that, most of the batters struggled on the surface as Sarah Andrews and Lisa Sthalekar combined to pick up four wickets.

Australia, however, earned the victory by eight wickets with 16 balls to spare. Shelley Nitschke clubbed 56 runs off 38 balls at a strike rate of 147.37, thanks to nine boundaries and one six, to offer them the platform before the unbeaten 53-run stand for the third wicket completed the chase by eight wickets.

Brief Scores- AUSW 136/2 (Shelley Nitschke 56, Cordel Jack 1/29) beat WIW 135/8 (Deandra Dottin 53, Sarah Andrews 2/19) by 8-wickets.
