Royal Challengers Bengaluru Feel The Benefits of Going For A Team over Players
Royal Challengers Bengaluru put star power away and go for role clarity to Rise High.

From 2011-2021, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru had, for a good part, the best Indian, South African, and West Indian batsmen of that period. Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli, and AB De Villiers are in the line-up, yet the side manages to make the playoffs only five times in ten years.
It was a side based on individuals, with Virat Kohli, Chris Gayle, and AB de Villiers providing the star power. The rest of the line-up, though, was non-existent with no role-players to back them up and no bowling to make a fight. Three batters, capable of winning games on their days, but a long tournament needs more than that.
Fast-forward to 2024. This time, it was Faf Du Plessis, Virat Kohli, and Glenn Maxwell. Still a fearsome trio, but Bengaluru were struggling. They made the tough call to drop Glenn Maxwell midway and handed greater responsibilities to both Rajat Patidar and Dinesh Karthik.
Will Jacks was given a go as well, and batters were given a proper sense of clarity. The bowling line-up also found firepower rallying around Josh Hazlewood. The Royal Challengers Bengaluru went on to make a run to the playoffs after looking down and out at the halfway stage. They went out of the tournament in the eliminator, but the stage was set for the upcoming seasons.
The findings of 2024 are what Bengaluru is reaping now with a title in 2025. The bowling attack got its importance with Bhuvneshwar Kumar's addition and Josh Hazlewood's presence, allowing Bengaluru to be a force with both new and old ball. Krunal Pandya was also given role clarity, which he lacked at this level, and the freedom has allowed him to come into his own as a left-arm spinner.

With the three experienced heads and Rasikh Dar getting his confidence in the death bowling attack has become well-rounded, something RCB have never had in 17 years of the IPL. After 17 years of struggle, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru have finally given importance to role clarity, and it did not stop with the bowling.
The batting line-up, as well, looks a lot more well-defined. Virat Kohli, the anchor, Rajat Patidar, the spin basher, and Tim David, the finisher, have left Bengaluru with three batters to bat around. The pieces in between, though, are no side pieces. Phil Salt has been giving rapid starts, and Devdutt Padikkal, too, is taking the bowlers on well in the powerplay.
The batting line-up, which was reliant on three big names, now has some young stars growing in and doing the job. 18 years is what it took to get the first title, and Bengaluru finally looks like a side ready to dominate. The defending champs are going with a mark of dominance as well. Top of the table coming into the business end of the tournament, they are bossing it and are looking hot favorites to add to their tally, with role clarity finally coming into the drawing room for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The momentum is with them, and the chance to say Ee Saala Cup Namdu is definitely and highly likely.
