Kolkata Knight Riders' assistant coach, Shane Watson, has provided a vital injury update on Angkrish Raghuvanshi after concussion scare during the KKR vs MI IPL 2026 clash at the Eden Gardens.

Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) Angkrish Raghuvanshi was involved in a brutal collision with teammate Varun Chakravarthy, while both attempted to take Tilak Varma’s catch during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 clash against the Mumbai Indians at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
The collision led to Raghuvanshi leaving the field during the 14th over. First, what was thought to be an injured finger was later revealed to be a concussion and was replaced by Tejasvi Dahiya, the wicket-keeper batter.

Kolkata Knight Riders grabbed a four-wicket victory at the end of the fixture, which kept them alive in the competition’s Playoff race. Their assistant coach, Shane Watson, gave a vital update on Raghuvanshi, as he reckoned that the youngster was desperate to get back to the field but experienced neck pain and dizziness.
“He ran a long way to try and take that catch. Unfortunately, the collision that he had with Varun meant that he ended up having some neck pain, a bit of dizziness, and a bit of a headache within a couple of hours of that as well.” Watson told the reporters.
“So unfortunately, he wasn't able to finish off the game. And I know how desperate he was as well. He is as tough a competitor as you've ever met. We certainly missed him from a batting perspective.” The former Australia captain expressed in the post-match press conference.
MI posted a decent score of 147 runs for the loss of eight wickets in their allotted 20 overs, thanks to an unbeaten knock of 32 runs from Corbin Bosch with three boundaries and two sixes. In reply, India's Manish Pandey’s 45 runs in 33 balls and Rovman Powell’s 40 runs scripted their four-wicket win.
KKR ‘s Playoff hopes hang by a thread—Win vs DC is a must, but results elsewhere must also go their way
Kolkata moves to the sixth position of the points table with six victories in 13 clashes at a net run rate (NRR) of +0.011. They have the same points as Punjab Kings (PBKS), who have a better NRR than the Ajinkya Rahane-led side with +0.227.

Kolkata will hope the Kings to lose their last contest against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). They will also want the Rajasthan Royals (RR) not to earn the victory against the Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Wankhede Stadium. That will be the easiest route for their qualification if they beat the Delhi Capitals (DC) after that.
But even if PBKS wins, KKR will get the right picture of their equation to get over Punjab’s NRR as they are playing the final league stage game of the event.
