India have announced their ODI and T20I squads for the upcoming tour of Australia. The series is very important as the current ODI champions begin their preparation for the T20 World Cup, which will start in June 2026. Keeping this in mind, the team management has taken a big decision by recalling Bharti Fulmali to the national team for the first time since 2019.

The 31-year-old has performed well in the Women’s Premier League (WPL), and because of her strong show, she has earned another chance at the international level. The Amravati-born player has played two T20Is in her career and has scored 23 runs. In the WPL, she scored 289 runs in 13 matches at an impressive strike rate of 162.85. Her return will add strength to the team, especially in finishing matches.

The multi-format tour will include three T20I matches, three One-Day Internationals, and a one-off Test match starting on February 15. Harmanpreet Kaur will lead India in both the ODI and T20I teams, with Smriti Mandhana continuing as the vice-captain. The Test squad will be announced at a later date.

Shreyanka Returns, Kashvee Included; Harleen Misses Out on T20Is

Shreyanka Patil, who recently returned to professional cricket after a 14-month injury break, has been selected for the T20I series. However, Harleen Deol has not been included in the T20I squad, despite her strong recent performances.

In the ODI squad, Vaishnavi Sharma and G Kamalini have received their first call-ups to the national team. Meanwhile, Kashvee Gautam has been included in the ODI setup, replacing Arundhati Reddy. Spinner Radha Yadav has been dropped from both the ODI and T20I squads.

The T20I series against Australia will be an important step in India’s preparation for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, which will be held in June. The T20I squad includes a good mix of experienced players and young talent. The batting line-up features aggressive opener Shafali Verma along with consistent batters like Jemimah Rodrigues.

Shreyanka last played for India in the 2024 T20 World Cup and now returns to the T20I team after missing nearly 14 months due to injuries to her shin, wrist, and thumb. Richa Ghosh and G Kamalini have been named as the wicket-keeping options for both white-ball formats.
