In the contest between the MI London and the Trent Rockets during The Hundred 2026 at the Kennington Oval in South London, both teams came hard at each other with some fabulous batting and bowling performances. They were equally superb in the field, showing some incredible performances in taking the acrobatic catches.

Ahead of the contest, MI London was in third position in the points table, having earned four wins in six clashes at a net run rate of +0.448, while the Rockets top the table with five victories in six encounters at a dominating net run rate of +0.893.

Full stretch, one hand — Harrison's take leaves MI London batters stunned

On the 56th ball of the first innings during the contest, Calvin Harrison went with a well-tossed-up delivery on the off stump as Will Jacks absolutely smashed it back towards the bowler, who quickly reached out with his right hand and plucked the ball out of thin air.

It was an excellent return catch from England's Harrison, who had to stop in his bowling stride and saw the ball being smashed near him. Due to the pace of the ball, he had to decide whether he could go for the catch or save himself from the catch.

Will Jacks ended up with a fine knock of 39 runs off 26 balls at a strike rate of 150, thanks to his three boundaries and as many sixes. Harrison, meanwhile, ended up with 1/11 in 10 balls.

MI London still post a fighting total despite a lower-order collapse vs Trent Rockets

Apart from Jacks, the two batters in the top order of the MI London side struggled to get going with the bat. However, Sam Curran, the captain, smashed a fine knock of 72 runs in 46 balls at a strike rate of 156.52, thanks to four boundaries and five sixes to end up with 147/7 in their allotted 100 balls. This included them losing three wickets for just three runs in the last five balls.

In reply, the Trent Rockets couldn’t get going in the chase from the start before the 78-run knock for the fifth wicket shouldered them over the winning line. Mitchell Santner remained unbeaten on 52 runs off 23 balls at a strike rate of 226.09, thanks to five fours and three sixes.
