KKR IPL 2026 Playoffs: 3 exact results they need Tonight — Win vs DC, RR loss & NRR math explained
Can the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) qualify for the Playoffs of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 as all the qualification scenarios have been explained.

As soon as the Punjab Kings (PBKS) beat the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in their last league stage game at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium in Lucknow for a seven-wicket victory, the pressure mounted over the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to qualify for the Playoffs of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026.
The Punjab side, thanks to the vital victory, moved to the fourth position in the points table with seven victories in 14 clashes, boasting a net run rate (NRR) of 0.309, which is significantly better than Kolkata's current NRR of 0.011.
The NRR tiebreaker: KKR need a 77-Run Win (Batting First) or chase 180+ in 12 Overs — Here's the exact math
The Ajinkya Rahane-led side will play their last league-stage clash against the Delhi Capitals (DC) on May 24 at the Eden Gardens, which will be the final league-stage clash of this season’s IPL.
First, Kolkata will be glued to the afternoon clash of the day between the Mumbai Indians (MI) and the Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. If the latter earns a victory, then it will be all over for the Knight Riders even before they take the field.
Rajasthan, which has 14 points after 13 clashes, will reach 16 points and will automatically qualify for the playoffs. However, if they lose, they won’t be able to make it into the top four. Secondly, there is a chance of rain in Mumbai during the afternoon, which means if a washed-out fixture takes place, RR will be tied on 15 points.

And finally, on the third instance, to break the 15-point tie breaker, KKR will need a massive win over the Capitals. They will need to win by at least 77 runs if they score 200 runs. In case of chasing, they would need to get 180+ scores in 12 to 12.4 overs.
