The Chennai Super Kings (CSK), five-title winner of the Indian Premier League (IPL), has posted a special video for their newly signed wicket-keeper batter, Sanju Samson, who smashed a fine knock of 89 runs during the final of the Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 against New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, as he used the form in getting the momentum.

Sanju Samson didn’t get the chance to be part of the 11 at the beginning of the campaign before he returned and played a crucial yet small knock in Chennai against Zimbabwe in the Super 8 clash of the event, before playing a superb knock of unbeaten 97 runs against West Indies in the quarter-final of the event at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

The right-handed batter continued the same dominance and smashed a dashing knock of 89 runs against England in the semifinal of the event at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. He took on the short balls against Jofra Archer and creamed the big shots around the park.

The question was whether Samson could again repeat the same knock in the final, and in reply, the Kerala-born batter nailed a fine knock of 89 runs in just 46 balls with the help of five boundaries and eight sixes at a strike rate of 193.48.

Sanju becomes the third batter overall and the second player for India after Virat Kohli to celebrate successive scores of more than fifty in the semifinal and final of a World Cup. He almost finished with most runs as an Indian batter in a single edition of the event, which was a stunning feat to achieve.

Apart from him, Ishan Kishan and Abhishek Sharma were equally important in India, posting the massive score of 255 runs for the loss of five wickets in their allotted 20 overs. The former drilled 54 runs in 25 balls while the latter cracked 52 runs in just 21 balls.

Brief Scores: India 255/5 (Sanju Samson 89, Ishan Kishan 54, James Neesham 3/46) vs New Zealand 153/9 (Tim Seifert 52, Jasprit Bumrah 4/14)
