DDCA's "zero-tolerance" statement on DPL 2026 corruption claims

The Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) has addressed the reports of corruption in the Delhi Premier League (DPL) as unverified. The association that reacted to the reports exposed in Tehelka reckoned that it had sought advice from the authority, which is the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Vansh Bedi’s name has also been mentioned in the reports of corruption, which is related to the DPL and the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season when he was part of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) franchise.

DDCA says corruption claims are "unverified," urges no conclusions until due process

The Tehelka website conducted an operation on the former first-class player, Rachit Bhatia, who claimed that he knew the playing XI of the team during the DPL 2026. The DDCA issued an official statement on the matter.

“DDCA would like to clarify that the allegations referred to in these reports are unverified and have not been established by any competent authority. The Association believes it would be inappropriate to conclude any individual, player or franchise based solely on such allegations.” DDCA revealed in the statement.

“Given the seriousness of the matter, DDCA has written to the respective authorities and shared the information that has come to its notice, requesting that the matter be examined through the appropriate established processes.” They addressed.

The Delhi association also felt that it would be inappropriate to conclude any individual, player or the team based solely on the allegations. Bhatia claimed to have shared information with the bookies during the IPL 2025 and fixed games of the SMAT with INR 40 lakh per match for the information.

“DDCA maintains a zero-tolerance approach towards any activity that may compromise the integrity of cricket and will extend its full cooperation to any inquiry undertaken by the competent authorities. Any action, if warranted, will be taken strictly in accordance with the findings of the appropriate authorities and the applicable rules and regulations.” The association reflected.

“DDCA believes that it is important to distinguish between allegations and facts and allow the due process to take its course. The Association remains committed to safeguarding the integrity, credibility and reputation of cricket in Delhi.” The DDCA concluded.

Bhatia debuted for the Nagaland side during the Ranji Trophy 2018/19 and works as a selector and coach for the Delhi side across the U14, U17, and U19 age groups. The Tehelka sting has got the inside information between the young Delhi-based players and the London-based bookmakers.

The alleged playing XI leak rate has dropped to INR 40 lakh per game, as the investigation claimed that the guarantee rose. The India-born also said that the DPL information was 100% current, in comparison to 90% for the IPL.

Bhatia got the playing XI information of the Ruturaj Gaikwad-led side, where the rate was INR 60 lakh per game. The information was later forwarded to London-based bookmakers via Snapchat, as their total earnings were INR 3 crore for five games.
