Pakistan’s expressive pacer, Haris Rauf, has been handed a reprimand and fined 20% of his match fee for breaching the level 1 of the ICC code of Conduct during the ODI against England side, which took place at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Pakistan went on to win the contest by one-wicket in an intense encounter.
Rauf played a vital role in the 242-run chase as he and Shadab Khan put up a fine partnership of 89 runs for the tenth wicket. While Shadab smashed a fine knock of unbeaten 113 runs off 96 balls, Rauf got seven runs off 19 balls, including the match-winning boundary.
Why was Haris Rauf fined 20% of his match fee?
Rauf was found to have breached Article 2.2 of the ICC Code of Conduct for the Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to displaying conduct of the spirit of the game. This became his third offence within the 24-month period, as his total has increased for five demerit points.
The incident took place at the end of the 46th over of the innings. Stading at the non-striker’s end, Rauf appealed for a wide before getting engaged in an argument with the England all-rounder, Will Jacks. Rauf raised and bat and continued the exchange despite warnings from the umpires.
“Meanwhile, England have been fined 15 per cent of their match fee after being found to be three overs short of their target after time allowances were taken into account.” The ICC expressed in a statement.

“Under Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct, which covers minimum over-rate offences, players are fined five per cent of their match fee for every over their side fails to bowl within the allotted time.” The statement added.
