For the Indian side during the opening clash against Japan, Shree Charani returned with figures of 4/10 in her four overs at an economy rate of 2.50, including two maidens. Meanwhile, Shafali Verma also picked up 2/13 in four overs before contributing unbeaten 40 runs off 15 balls at a strike rate of 266.67, thanks to six boundaries and a pair of sixes.

India completed the 58-run chase by eight wickets inside the powerplay. Bangladesh qualified for the semifinal after their quarter-final fixture against China was rained off.
