The Mumbai Indians (MI) are up against the Gujarat Titans (GT) in the 30th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 in Ahmedabad. The home team skipper, Shubman Gill, opted to bowl first on winning the toss. He looked happy with his decision, while MI Skipper Hardik Pandya wanted to do the same. The visitors are at the bottom of the points table with just a single win, which is quite concerning.

MI have brought in two new debutants, Danish Malewar and Krish Bhagat, for today's match. The franchise is known for grooming new players and giving them chances in the IPL. Apart from that, Rohit Sharma remains out of the team due to injury.

Who is Danish Malewar?

Danish Malewar is another young talent who has caught attention after being handed an IPL debut. The 21-year-old Vidarbha batter rose to prominence following a remarkable performance in domestic cricket, particularly in the Duleep Trophy. He also made his IPL debut in the same match, marking a big moment in his young career.

Malewar grabbed headlines when he scored a stunning 198 on debut in the tournament, narrowly missing out on a double century. Known for his calm approach at the crease, Malewar has shown the ability to adapt to different match situations. He can play long innings when required, while also accelerating when the team needs quick runs.

Who is Krish Bhagat?

Krish Bhagat was handed his maiden IPL cap as the MI made bold changes for their clash against the GT in IPL 2026. The 21-year-old is a right-arm medium pacer from Punjab who has been part of the domestic circuit and has gradually built his reputation as a hardworking all-round option. He was included in the playing XI as an injury replacement, highlighting the franchise’s trust in his potential.

He has featured in first-class and List A cricket for Punjab, picking up useful wickets while also showing he can contribute with the bat lower down the order. Bhagat has been part of the MI setup behind the scenes, working as a support bowler in training camps and impressing the coaching staff with his discipline and consistency. His selection for this crucial game reflects how highly the management rates his work ethic and ability to step up when needed.
