The star Indian batter, KL Rahul, and the former England batter, Kevin Pietersen, have continued their banter on social media platforms, amidst the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season. Pietersen was the mentor of Rahul’s Delhi Capitals in the previous edition of the competition.

KL Rahul and Pietersen were part of the Delhi Capitals’ set-up, with the Indian veteran joining the franchise from the Lucknow Super Giants, and the latter taking over as the mentor. Their on-field and off-field exchanges have become favorites among fans, as they continue to do so even in 2026.

Kevin Pietersen comments on KL Rahul’s Instagram post

The Karnataka opening batter, who was excellent in their previous clash against the Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, thanks to the brutal knock of 75 runs off 40 balls at a strike rate of 187.50 with the help of six boundaries and five boundaries, posted a few pictures on Instagram.

In the comment section, Pietersen asked Rahul to delete the last picture, in which the Indian batter was seen holding a bag, which seemed to be somehow related to the England star.

“Please delete the pic of that bag! WTAF.”- the former DC batter wrote on the social media post before getting a reply from the author Rahul, who penned down, ‘pls stick to doing you 6-7.’ That was perhaps an indication of shooting the YouTube videos for Pietersen’s channel named ‘Switch Hit.’

In the past, they had the banter on the Maldives break for the England star. The moment came in the last season where the Gujarat Titans’ captain, Shubman Gill, was in a chat with Pietersen, and in the middle of the discussion, the latter was jokingly asked about describing the term- mentor.

Standing beside him, Rahul quickly chimed in with a cheeky dig, suggesting that taking a two-week break for a Maldives vacation is also part of the job description.
