Some onlookers also speculated that the policeman might have been drunk…

…to the point where someone said it was probably a ‘Kohli fan’:

Just before the toss on Sunday, it started to rain around 6.30 p.m. The downpour halted around 9 pm, giving a hint of something better over the horizon. However, just as the players began to warm up, it started to rain heavily once more, forcing the match to be moved to Monday.

On Monday, some parts of Gujarat are expected to get wet, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

“Light thunderstorm with lightning and surface wind 30- 40 kmph (in gust) accompanied with light to moderate rain very likely in the districts of North Gujarat region namely Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Panchmahal, and Dahod; in the districts of Saurashtra namely Rajkot, Amreli, and Bhavnagar,”

the forecast read.

Gujarat Titans, who finished higher on the points table at the conclusion of the league phase, will be declared the winner if Monday’s match is washed out by rain.
