A brief look at the updates of the most runs, most wickets, and points table of the ongoing Major League Cricket (MLC) for the 2026 season.

The Major League Cricket (MLC) 2026 began on June 18 as the six franchises- Los Angeles Knight Riders, MI New York, San Fransico Unicorns, Seattle Orcas, Texas Super Kings, and Washington Freedom- come up against each other for the title glory. The MI New York starts the season as the defending champions, having won the title in 2025.
The three venues- Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas, Oakland Coliseum in California, and Knight Riders Cricket Field in Pomona- have been selected to host the entire competition, with the Prairie Stadium hosting the business end and the start of the competition.
Meanwhile, just like the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, the top four of the six teams will qualify for the Playoffs as the Oakland Coliseum hosts those four games, including the final, which is scheduled to happen on July 18.
As of now, heading into the 2026 season, MI New York have won two trophies in 2023 and 2025, while Washington won the title in 2024. The latter also finished as the runners-up of the 2025 edition.
Most runs — Major League Cricket (MLC) 2026
On the very opening day of the league, both Faf du Plessis and Tim Seifert celebrated their respective centuries. The former smashed an unbeaten knock of 113 runs off 52 balls at a strike rate of 217.31, thanks to nine boundaries and seven sixes. In the first innings, Seifert nailed a stunning knock of 104 runs in just 66 deliveries at a strike rate of 157.58, shouldering on eight boundaries and six over boundaries.

On the second day, the batters continued to smash the bowlers around the park. Colin Munro amd Lhuan-dre Pretorius celebrated their respective fifties while in the third game, for the Seattle Orcas, Seeifert clubbed 78 runs in just 33 balls.
In the fourth encounter, San Franciso Unicorns opened their account with a seve-wicket win over the Super Kings in the 153-chase on a tricky surface, where they didn't allow the Texas batters to put a massive score on the board. That was followed by a run-fest in the evening. Wasington Freedom earned a 30-run victory in the 245-run defence as Mitchell Owen smashed 155 runs off just 68. However, MI New York gained confidence with Kieron Pollard's unbeaten 100 off 56 balls.
On the last two games in Dallas during the first round, batting seemed to get tough. There was not a single fifty in the game between the Orcas and the Knight Riders. While in the evening, it was the same story for the Texas Super Kings. However, Nicholas Pooran remained unbeaten on 68 runs off 46 balls in the 159-run chase for the MI New York.
In the batting during the Texas and San Franciso clash, the former's Faf du Plessis smashed 40 runs off 24 balls while Donovan Ferreira provided them with a vital knock of 45 runs off 28 balls to end the encounter.
During the next encounter between Orcas and the Freedom, the former posted a huge score of 227/6 in their allotted 20 overs. Shimron Hetmyer remained unbeaten on 79 runs off 33 balls at a strike rate of 239.39, thanks to two boundaries and nine sixes while their captain, Marcus Stoinis, slammed 42 runs off 16 balls. The Freedom side couldn't put up a show with the bat.
Against the MI New York for the 10th match of the event, Texas Super Kings' batters had a light work of as Saiteja Mukkamlla smashed 38 runs off 37 balls in the 128-run chase. However, in the evening clash, it was a run-fest as Lhuan-de-Pretorius smashed 87 runs off just 39 balls thanks to nine boundaries and five sixes while in the first innings, Shayan Jahangir clubbed 62 runs off just 25 balls with four boundaries and six sixes.
The MI New York captain, Nicholas Pooran, slammed an unbeaten knock of 70 runs off 58 balls at a strike rate of 120.69 agaianst the Los Angele Knight Riders, whose batters failed to do well. In the second game of the evening between TSK and the Freedom, Wiaan Mulder and Donovan Ferreira played some impactful knocks while Mitchell Owen continued his impressive form with 77 runs off just 35 balls at a strike rate of 220.
Dasun Shanaka celebrated a fine knock of unbeaten 58 runs off just 23 balls at a strike rate of 252.17, thanks to five boundaries and five sixes, while the Knight Riders batters failed to showed proper batting show. In the evening clash, Andries Gous lit up the stage with an undefeated knock of 83 runs off just 50 balls, thanks to his four boundaries and seven sixes before Lhuan Pretorius played a sensational knock of 66 runs off just 26 balls to get the win.
None of the batters enjoyed the conditions at the Knight Riders Cricket Field in Pomona during the clash between the Los Angeles and Washington Freedom. Only Steve Smith remained unbeaten but for a scratchy 40 off 44 balls while Mark Chapman made 34 runs off 30 balls. Rovman Powell claubbed 30 runs off just 19 balls with two fours and as many sixes.
During the clash beteween New York and Orcas, most batters struggled to get going with Quinton de Kock being the only half-centurion of the entire game as he smashed 61 runs off 46 balls with the help of six boundaries and a couple of sixes at a strike rate of 132.61. For Orcas, Stoinis was the leading run-getter of the game with 36 runs off 31 balls.
The Texas Super Kings and Los Angele Knight Riders' encounter saw some fierce batting, including the 80-run knock off just 55 balls by Salteja Mukkamalla at the opening spot for TSK before Colin Munro remained unbeaten on 55 runs for the Los Angeles. But the most significant innings came from Rovman Powell, who drilled 73 runs off just 27 balls, thanks to six boundaries and as many sixes.
In the game between Freedom and Uniconrn, the Freedom captain, Steve Smith, played a decent knock of 56 runs off 49 balls while Mark Chapman dished 44 runs in 33 balls to complete their 129-run chase. Meanwhile, in the second clash, it was veteran Kieron Pollard, who smashed 63 runs off 35 balls to completed a sensational chase of 168 runs for the MI New York.
On July 06, the batters went through a nightmarish time. Between Texas and Unicorns, the highest individual score was unbeaten 40 runs off 44 balls by Shubham Ranjane, while in the second clash between New York and Unicorns, Sanjay Krishnamurthi clubbed undefeated 48 runs off 45 balls.
During the encounters between Unicorns and New York, all the batters struggled to get going, apart Dre Pretorious, who smashed a dashing knock of unbeaten 102 runs off just 52 balls at a strike rate of 196.15, shouldering on 10 boundaries and five over boundaries.
In the game between the Knight Riders and Freedom, Andre Fletcher and Matthew Tropmp celebrated their respective half-centuries in the first innings. For the Washington side, there was not a big individual score as Lahiru Milantha was the leading run-getter with 40 runs off 25 balls.
During the clash between the New York and Orcas, both Kieron Pollard and Tajinder Dillion smashed their respective half-centuries. Tim Seifert drilled 88 runs off 61 balls, but that wasn't enough to save them from the defeat. In second game between LA Knight Riders and Unicorns, Colin Munro got a 43-ball 52, which was the only 50+ individual score of the game.
In the game between Texas and Washington, Faf du Plessis celebrated a fine knock of 61 runs off 41 balls while the rest of the line-up after the opening pair continued to struggle. For the Freedom, Ben Dwarshuis' unbeaten 38 runs off 16 balls shouldered them over the finishing line. Meanwhile, in the second game between Orcas and Unicorns, Finn Allen smashed a fine knock of 65 runs off 31 ball while for Orcas, Matthew Breetzke nailed 55 runs off 29 balls with the help of three fours and four over boundaries.
In the game between Freedom and New York, Nicholas Pooran played a sensational knock of 86 runs off 44 balls with the help of four boundaries and eight sixes. However, Andries Goes' 54-ball 96 and Rachin Ravindra's 30-ball 60 got Freedom over the line in the 188-run chase. In the second clash between TSK and LAKR, Colin Munro smashed 36-ball 62 while Matthew Tromp's 58* completed their 172-run chase.
During the first qualifier, Andre Russell and Colin Munro celebrated fifties while the most impactful knock came from Rovman Powell's unbeaten 50-run knock off 15 balls. In Unicorns' defeat, Short remained unbeaten on 94 runs in 62 balls at a strike rate of 10 boundaries and two sixes.
In the Eliminator, there were three centuries in the encounter. MI New York's captain, Nicholas Pooran, smashed 33-ball 106-run knock before Freedom completed the chase based on the 241-run third-wicket stand thanks to Steve Smith and Andries Gous' centuries.
Gous continued to show his potential with another superb knock of 73 runs off 40 balls, thanks to eight boundaries and three sixes, in the challenger. However, Unicorns' captain, Matthew Short, remained unbeaten on 121 runs off 56 balls with 11 fours and eight sixes but failed to get over the line in the knockout clash.
During the MLC 2026 final, LAKR put up a strong opening partnership as Andre Fletcher smashed a decent knock of 47 runs off 27 balls with seven boundaries and one six. Meawnhile, Obus Pienaaar playd a fine knock of 53 runs off 24 balls with the help of three boundaries and five sixes at a strike rate of 220.38.

Most wickets — Major League Cricket (MLC) 2026
In the opening clash, the bowlers struggled on a flat surface. Only six wickets fell for more than 440 runs in the opening clash. The bowlers couldn’t get the line and length and were nailed around the park.
The Orcas bowlers, after the opening day, learnt a lot of lesson and came up with some better bowling plans as Ottneil Baartman and Dasun Shanaka shared seven wickets between them.
Most of the bowlers continue to suffer on a flat Dallas surface. However, in the afternoon clash for the fourth encounter, San Francisco's Peter Siddle bowled well for his 3/36 in four overs, while Ghulam Mudassar ended up with 1/11 in three overs.
Corbin Bosch, for the MI New York, picked up four wickets against Texas in the seventh encounter, while both Andre Russell and Shadley van Schalkwyk grabbed three wickes each agains the Orcas in the sixth game of the competition.
For Texas, Amshi de Silva showed brilliant pace to unsette the batters, who were not able to smash the bowlers around the park. The Sri Lanka-born ended up with figures of 4/28 in four overs while Abhimanyu Lamba had figures of 2/22 in four overs.
In the game between the Orcas and Freedom, Marco Jansen bowled beautifully to end with figures of 3/33 in four overs, while Jasdeep Singh, in the defense, showed his energy and pace to go through Freedom's line-up and ended up with 5/24 in four overs.
With the ball, Donovan Ferreira showed his skills against MI New York with 3/14 while Adam Milne ended up with 2/22. MI also tried hard to push the game into th 19th over as Rushil Ugarkar ended with 2/16 in four overs. In the 11th encounter of the event, Marcus Stoinis picked up 2/29 in four overs while Xavier Bartlett shone with 2/30 in four overs.
The bowlers continues to enjoy the afternoon games in Oakland as Andre Russell picked up four wickets before Nosthush Kenjige and Corbin Bosch picked up three wickets each. Romario Shepherd had figures of 1/5 in his four overs including two maidens. In the evening game, Akeal Hossein celebrated a hat-trick to end with 4/36 in his four overs.
In the game, Faiban Allen was excellent for his figures of 2/18 while Sunil Narine ended with 2/17 for the Knight Riders before Marcus Stoinis, the Orcas captain, got three wickets for 28 runs in his four overs. The evening game between Freedom and Unicorns saw the bowlers struggling as only six wickets fell in 35.1 overs for 383 runs acorss the two innings.
The bowlers, during the contest at the Knight Riders Cricket Field in Pomona, enjoyed their time. Saurabh Netravalkar picked up three wickets for just 16 runs in his four overs at an economy rate of four while Mitchell Owen ended with 3/19 in four overs. Sunil Narine showed his class for 2/25 in four overs.
The bowlers continued to have a good time with Stoinis picking up 3/14 in four overs against MI NY while Otteneil Baartman having 2/23. Later, Romario Shepherd had 3/16 in four overs to leave a massive impact in the contest.
The bowlers didn't enjoy a great evening during the clash between Los Angeles and Texas, apart from Sunil Narine, who ended with figures of 2/22 in his four overs. Every other bowler was nailed outside the park.
On July 05, during the game against MI New York, Narine ended with magical figures of 0/7 in four overs, but that wasn't enough of him saving them. Corbin Bosch picked up 3/19 in four overs along with a maiden for New York. In the first game, Jack Edwards returned with 4/13 in 3.3 overs while both Ben Dwarshuis and Ian Holland picked up two wickets each.
While defending 121 runs, the Seattle Orcas won the contest by nine overs over Texas Super Kings as Ottneil Baartman had 3/9 in four overs along with Shanaka's 4/26 in four overs. In the second game, Matthew Short picked up 4/17 in four overs while Broy Couch finished with 3/32 in four overs.
In the bowling department during the clash between the Unicorns and New York, Matthew Short finished with 3/24 while Haris Rauf and Aaron Hardie had combined figures of 4/41 in seven overs at an economy rate of around six. But this superb bowling wasn't present for New York, who could pick up just one wicket in 15.4 overs.
During the encounter between the Knight Riders and the Freedom side, Saurabh Netravalkar ended with figures of 3/33 in four overs while both Ben Dwarshuis and Mitchell Owen picked up two wickets each. But the LAKR side bowled pretty well, thanks to Andre Russell's 3/34 and Ali Khan-Sunil Narine's combined figures of 3/32 in eight overs won the battle.
Baartman continues to impress with 2/18 while Marcus Stoinis returned with 5/46. But it was Pollard's 2/9 that earned MI the 17-run win. During the game between LA and Unicorns, Jason Holder ended with 4/40 along with Russell's three wickets.
In the game between Freedom and MI, none of the bowlers could impress with a clinical bowling performance with Netravalkar and Dwarshuis' combined 4/58 in eight overs. In the second game between TSK and Knight Riders, Holder picked up 3/33 while Narine had 1/15 in his four overs.
For LA Knight Riders, in the first qualifier 1, Narine finished with figures of 2/28 in four overs at an economy rate of seven. In the Eliminator, for the Freedom, Rachin Ravindra returned with figures of 4/29 in four overs.
During the Challenger of the MLC 2026, bowlers continued to struggle with the ball. For the Unicorns, Xavir Bartlett ended with figures of 3/36 in his four overs while Ghulam Mudasar had 2/32 in his four overs. Meanwhile, for Freedom, Saurabh Netravalkar had 1/35 in his four overs.
During the MLC 2026 final in Oakland, Ben Dwarhuis picked up three wickets for 31 runs in his four overs, while all of Mitchell Owen, Nikhil Chaudhary, and Rachin Ravindra grabbed two wickets each. Both Jason Holder and Sunil Narine finished with three wickets each in the bowling departments for the Knight Riders in the defense to win by one run.

The Texas Super Kings started their MLC 2026 campaign with a six-wicket victory in the 221-run chase with nine balls spare against the Orcas in Texas and got a good net run rate of +0.946.
In the second game, which was curtailed to 14 over due to rain, the Los Angeles Knight Riders completed the chase of 154 runs against the San Fransico Unicorns by sevenw wickets. In the third encounter, Orcas blew away the Washington Freedom in the 217-run chase with 16-balls to spare.

After the five games of the event, it looks like a balanced points table as every side, apart from MI New York, has opened their account in the competition. The New York side finally opened their account with the win over the Super Kings, who, along with the Orcas, had just one win in the first three clashes.
After two successive defeats, the Texas Super Kings made a strong return with a 22-run win over te Unicorns in a 161-run defense, where Amshi de Silva picked up four wickets for 28 runs in his four-over spell, while both Adam Milne and Abhimanyu Lamba shared two wickets each to bundle out the San Franciso side for just 139 runs.
Orcas' win over the Freedom by a massive margin of 88 runs boosted their net run rate as they moved from the bottom to the second position with a NRR of 0.221. Freedom, meanwhile, dropped to the bottom with a NRR of -1.462.
With the six-wicket win, Texas Super Kings went to the top of the points table with a NRR of 0.064, while San Franciso found themselves at four with the two-wicket win over Orcas, who, despite the defeat, stayed at the third rank thanks to their NRR of 0.132.
Despiste the one-wicket defeat in a nervy contest, TSK remained at the top of the points table with three wins in six games at a NRR of 0.033. MI New York, meanwhile, with the win over the Knight Riders, moved to the third place.
In the last game of the round at Oakland, Seattle Orcas blew away the LA Knight Riders with a 20-run win to move to the second position of the table with three wins and as many defeats in six encounters at a net run rate of 0.277. San Franciso Unicorns got themselves to the top of the table with their eight-wicket win over the Freedom, who remained at the bottom of the points table.
At the Knight Riders Cricket Field in Pomona, the Los Angeles got bundled out for just 108 runs on the board in 17.5 overs with only three players making it into the double digits. Saurabh Netravalkar and Mitchell Owen shared six wickets between them for 35 runs in eight overs at an economy rate of around 4.25. In reply, Washington completed the chase by six wickets with 17 balls to spare and moved to the fourth position of the points table.
MI New York, during their encounter against Seattle Orcas, held their nerve to earn a five-run victory and moved to the second position of the points table with three victories in five clashes at a net run rate of 0.259. The Orcas, meanwhile, stayed at the third position with a NRR of 0.199.
The Knight Riders completed a successful chase of 175 runs over the Super Kings to move to the fourth place of the table with a NRR of 0.135. At this point, every side has three wins besides their name in the competition.
On July 05, MI New York earned a fine victory by six wickets against the Los Angeles to move to the top of the points table, while Washington Freedom has gone up with the win five wickets against the Unicorns.
July 06 was the last day for the Pomona leg, and the bowlers enjoyed their time the most. Dasun Shanaka's four wickets in four balls, including a hat-trick, handed Super Kings a defeat in the 122-run chase. In the evening clash, the Unicorns completed the simple chase of 105 runs after bundling out MI New York by five wickets.
During the game between San Franciso and New York at the Grand Praire Stadium in Dallas, the Unicorns completed the easy chase of 146 runs with nine wickets in hand and 26 balls to spare, thanks to Lhuan-dre-Pretorious' unbeaten 102-run knock off 52 balls after some clinical bowling show from the MI NY bowlers.
The LA Knight Riders got back to winning ways against Washington Freedom by 18 runs. They posted 192 runs for the loss of eight wickets with two batters celebrating two fifties, while Freedom felt short of the target. Andre Russell ended with 3/34 in four overs while Sunil Narine returned with 1/14 in four overs.
MI New York made a storng comeback as they dent Orcas' qualification route to the Playoffs, while LA Knight Riders also handed the Unicorns an 11-run defeat in a crucial contest.
On the penultimate day of the group-stage, Washington Freedom qualified to the playoffs with the three-wicket win over the Texas Super Kings in the 166-run chase. On the other hand, San Franciso got over the line by six wickets in the 194-run chase.
In the last two group-stage clashes, which were important to decide the rankings of the sides, Washington got the win over New York to stay at the second position for a while before LAKR pushed them down to three to take up the second position with the win over Texas in the 172-run chsse.
During the first Qualfiier between the Unicorns and Knight Riders, the latter qualified to the final thanks to the seven-run victory as they defended 187 runs, despite the opposition being on 152/2 in 17 overs during their chase. Meanwhile, in the eliminator, Freedom completed the massive chase of 270 runs by six wickets with eight balls to spare.
The Freedom side, 24 hours later, held their nerve and completed the seven-run win in the 238-run defense during the Challenger over the Unicorns to qualify for the final of the event. They batted first to post 238/6 in their allotted 20 overs before restricting the opposition to 231/6.
The final of the MLC 2026 between Freedom and Knight Riders was a thriller where the latter held their nerve for an one-run win. After getting bundled out for 164, they needed to defend three runs off the last ball. And they completed that successfully and lifted their maiden trophy in the MLC history as Obus Pienaar's 53-run knock of 24 balls went in vain.
