Watch: Mehidy Hasan Miraz's stunning delivery dismisses Beau Webster —AUS vs BAN 1st Test

Mehidy Hasan Miraz has been excellent during the opening Test of the two-match series against Australia at the Marrara Cricket Ground in Darwin, where he showed his superb all-round performance with both bat and ball in hand to contribute to their nine-wicket memorable victory.  

Miraz contributed with the bat in the lower order of the batting unit during Bangladesh’s first innings before he celebrated a five-wicket haul in their second innings of bowling. His performance in the longest format has been incredible in the last few years.

The delivery that undid Webster: A ball that held its line and crashed into off stump

It was the final delivery of the 66th over of the innings when Mehidy dismissed Beau Webster for eight runs. The off-spinner put a quick straight delivery of the right-handed batter on a good length outside the off stump.

The delivery skidded on as Webster played for the turn as it went on the back foot and then looked to defend far too much inside the line. That was when he missed the ball, which held its line and clipped the top of the off-stump. It was a lovely ball to send back the batter for five runs.

Apart from that, Mehidy also dismissed Steve Smith, who gave a return catch to the bowler. He also got the wickets of Pat Cummins, Alex Carey, and Nathan Lyon to return with fine figures of 5/66 in 33.1 overs, including six maidens. Australia, in that process, were bundled out for 284 runs in their second innings.

Bangladesh sniff a famous Test win as Miraz rips through Australia's middle order

Bangladesh set the victory, putting themselves in the driver’s seat on the very opening day when they bundled out the home side for 198 runs in their first innings, with Hasan Mahmud troubling the hosts with pace and control to return with fine figures of 6/55 in 17 overs, including three maidens.

Bangladesh earned a massive lead of more than 200 runs and posted 426 runs in their first innings as their opener, Tanzid Hasan Tamim, completed his memorable century along with a couple of fifties from Najmul Hossain Shanto and Miraz.

Later, Bangladesh completed the chase of 57 runs by nine wickets and took a strong lead by a 1-0 margin.
