Bangladesh captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz was taken to hospital after suffering a head injury during the second ODI against Australia in Dhaka. The all-rounder was hit on the side of his helmet by a short ball from Riley Meredith while batting during Bangladesh's run chase.
Despite the injury, Miraz continued batting and helped Bangladesh complete a historic victory. His unbeaten knock played an important role as Bangladesh secured their first-ever ODI series win against Australia.

The incident happened in the 34th over of Bangladesh's innings when a bouncer from Riley Meredith struck Miraz on the helmet. The Bangladesh captain immediately looked uncomfortable and dropped to his knees as medical staff rushed onto the field.
Miraz underwent a concussion check on the ground before deciding to continue batting. After the match, Bangladesh team physio Bayjedul Islam Khan confirmed that the skipper had suffered a concussion and was taken to hospital for further observation.
"Mehidy Hasan Miraz had a concussion during the match today. He continued to play after being assessed in the middle. We have sent him to the hospital to assess the rest of his signs and for general observation. He will be there for the next 24 hours."
According to ESPNcricinfo, Miraz is now out of immediate danger. However, he will remain under medical supervision until Friday as part of the standard concussion recovery protocol.

Bangladesh produced a memorable performance to defeat Australia and seal the ODI series. Australia recovered from a poor start to score 187/8 in a rain-shortened 42-over innings. Marnus Labuschagne and Xavier Bartlett scored half-centuries to help the visitors recover after early wickets.
