There was tension in the face of all the Bangladesh players and their fans when their captain, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, started to vomit in the middle of the pitch after he was struck by an awkward bounce from Nathan Ellis during the second ODI of the three-match series against Australia.
At the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka, the home side was on the verge of their historic and maiden ODI series victory over the Australian side when the incident took place.

On the fourth ball of the 34th over of the second innings during the clash, Nathan Ellis banged the ball to Miraz, who was early into the pull and clonked a blow on his helmet as the ball bounced down to the third man region.

The physio rushed into the middle for the mandatory concussion check. Mehidy looked a bit dazed, which was not a good sign at all. He vomited as the stretcher came out. That made the entire ground concerned as everyone hoped for a better result from the veteran with some overnight rest.
The crowd also went silent when they recognized the situation. The Australian doctor was also out there in the middle and had a serious chat with Ahsan Raza, the Pakistani umpire. But the batter looked fine after a while and started to bat.

Just after the end of the game, Mehidy was seen being taken out to the hospital by the media team as they looked for a few tests to determine the depth of the injury. The vice-captain of the side, Najmul Hossain Shanto, reflected on the situation.

“Looks fine, but we have to observe him tonight. That's what I heard. Probably he went to the hospital. It means a lot, but I can't tell you in words.” Shanto expressed.
With the series already being won by the home side thanks to the 2-0 margin, Bangladesh can think of resting their spin all-rounder for the third clash.
How Bangladesh scripted a historic ODI series victory over Australia
Having already lost the opening game in Dhaka by a massive margin, Australia decided to bat first on the used surface and lost three wickets for zero runs in just two overs. They were in all sorts of trouble before the 103-run partnership for the seventh wicket between Marnus Labuschagne and Xavier Bartlett settled them a little.
Bartlett smashed 52 runs off 48 balls with the help of four boundaries and a pair of sixes at a strike rate of around 108, while Labuschagne’s 55* shouldered them to 187/8 when the rain came.

Bangladesh, despite losing their opening wicket on zero, completed the chase by five wickets in the rain-curtailed clash. Three batters got dismissed in the 40s as they scripted their maiden ODI series victory over Australia.
