In the previous clash of the Lucknow Super Giants during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, Mohsin Khan bowled a wicket-maiden against Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who has taken all the premier bowlers for first-ball sixes in this competition. That was a small proof of how quality a bowler he has been since his comeback from injury.

During LSG’s current encounter against the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium, Mohsin Khan reaped rewards with his fine pace and bounce to create trouble for the batters.

On the final delivery of the second over, Mohsin got the wicket of Tim Seifert for a three-ball duck. The right-handed batter picked the pitched-up delivery and chipped it straight into the hands of the cover fielder as Mukul Choudhary grabbed a fine catch inside the circle.

In his second over of the innings, Mohsin earned the wicket of the KKR captain, Ajinkya Rahane, for 10 runs. The right-handed batter, frustrated with the dot balls, miscued the slog across the line and was beaten due to the lack of pace as the ball flew in the air before the mid-off fielder grabbed a fine catch.

On his return after the power play, in the very first delivery, the left-arm seamer got the wicket of Rovman Powell for one run. The West Indies batter went for the pull by swiveling across and got a glove into the hands of the wicket-keeper.

After being smashed for a six on the second ball of the eleventh over, Mohsin earned the wicket of Cameron Green, who was undone by the short ball. The right-handed batter swung across the line and miscued it towards the offside as Rishabh Pant took it in safely.

On the very next delivery, Anukul Roy flicked the ball straight into the hands of mid-wicket as Mohsin went for a jog to celebrate his maiden five-wicket haul of the competition.

Rinku Singh’s late flourish help KKR to reach 155/7

Rinku Singh was the only shining light of the batting unit for the Kolkata side. The southpaw smashed an unbeaten 83 runs off 51 balls with the help of seven boundaries and five sixes at a strike rate of 162.75, while Green was decent for his 34 runs off 21 balls.

Meanwhile, Mohsin finished with figures of 5/23 in four overs along with a maiden. It was a phenomenal comeback from the pacer after missing the last season due to injury. That gave them a massive push and boost to do well with the ball on a surface which wasn't easy for the new batters.

Brief Scores (at the time of writing): LSG 28/1 (R Pant 16*,Vaibhav Arora 1/6) vs KKR 155/7 (Rishabh Pant 83*, Mohsin Khan 5/24)
