Prabhsimran Singh was one of the biggest reasons for the Punjab Kings (PBKS) to finish as the runners-up of the previous Indian Premier League (IPL), and he continued the same dominance with the bat in the 2026 edition of the competition. In the last four innings of the event, the right-handed batter celebrated three half-centuries.

Against the Rajasthan Royals at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, Chandigarh, Prabhsimran Singh was needed to shoulder them to a powerplay start inside the power play.

Prabhsimran Singh celebrates 35-ball fifty against RR in IPL 2026

Prabhsimran moved into the leg side against Jofra Archer as he threw his arms to flay it over the covers for a boundary before missing the flick with the ball brushing his thigh and running way to the fine leg fence for a four. He drilled Nandre Burger for two consecutive boundaries but kept struggling to be on 17 runs off 15 balls.

The Punjab-born welcomed Burger’s third over with a massive six as he flicked the full delivery on the pads with an aura over the deep backward square leg for a 67m over boundary as the fielder in the deep could only see it sailing over his head.

Cooper Connolly, since his introduction in the middle, took the center stage and contributed massively with several boundaries and sixes to get the advantage. Prabhsimran nailed Jofra Archer for two back-to-back boundaries before celebrating his half-century off 35 balls.

It was his 12th fifty in the IPL for the PBKS side, which is the third most after KL Rahul (25) and Shaun Marsh (21). He was finally dismissed for 59 runs in 44 balls, thanks to six boundaries and one six.

RR took control to dry runs in middle overs

Brijesh Sharma was excellent in the middle overs to dry the runs as he had figures of 0/18 in three overs. Ravindra Jadeja was equally excellent for an economy rate of eight in four overs as Yash Raj Punja picked up two crucial wickets.
