The Rajasthan Royals (RR) have been exceptional during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 clash against the Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur with a clinical batting performance. Their captain, Riyan Parag, set the stage on fire with some brutal hitting before Donovan Ferreira joined the party.

The Capitals were off the mark with the ball on most occasions towards the death overs. Axar Patel’s captaincy was a bit defensive too, as he kept one over of Kuldeep Yadav for Ferreira, who clubbed the left-arm wrist spinner for three sixes in four overs and got the momentum in their favor.

Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel’s fun moment goes viral

It was the 12th over of the innings when Ravindra Jadeja walked into the middle. On his way, he had a fun moment with Kuldeep. The all-rounder tried to shadow his bat towards the spinner as if to indicate that he would show his beast mode to smash fours and sixes against the Uttar Pradesh-born.

Meanwhile, Kuldeep also continued the friendly banter by grabbing Jadeja’s hand tightly as the umpire came between them to check the batter’s bat using the gauge. That moment went viral on social media platforms.

The Saurashtra batter creamed 20 runs in his tiny knock off just 14 balls at a strike rate of 142.86 with the help of one boundary and one six.

Rajasthan finished with 225 runs for the loss of six wickets in their allotted 20 overs. The home captain, Riyan Parag, smashed 90 runs in 50 balls at a strike rate of 180 with the help of eight boundaries and five sixes before Ferreira contributed an unbeaten 47 runs off 14 balls, thanks to two boundaries and six sixes at a strike rate of 142.86.

In reply, Delhi got a flying start thanks to Pathum Nissanka celebrating his fifty off just 23 balls, shouldering on five boundaries and three sixes as they raced away to 78 runs without any damage in seven overs.

It was still a long way to go for the tourists, but they got the firing start and gave the middle over a fine platform to continue the pressure on the home bowlers in Jaipur.

Brief Scores (at the time of writing): DC 110/1 (Pathum Nissanka 62*, R Jadeja 1/12) vs RR 225/6 (Riyan Parag 90, D Ferreira 47*, M Starc 3/40)
