Watch: Sunil Narine’s excellent double-wicket super over hands KKR win in IPL 2026 vs LSG
Sunil Narine bowls a superb double-wicket super over to hand Kolkata Knight Riders the victory in the Indian Premier League 2026 against the Lucknow Super Giants.

The Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants encounter of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium in Lucknow produced a stellar show with both bat and ball in hand. The pendulum has swung on both ends before Mohammad Shami’s last-ball six took it to the super over.
At one point, Lucknow was incredibly ahead of the clash with KKR, being 73/6 before Rinku Singh bailed them out of trouble. But Lucknow didn’t bat well at the start before they used their firepower and took them into the super over. The issue for them was not using Mohsin Khan, who was substituted in the first innings.
Sunil Narine repeats epic super over against Nicholas Pooran
Without a doubt, KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane handed the ball to Sunil Narine for the super over. Lucknow sent their two international batters, Nicholas Pooran and Aiden Markram, in the middle. And it turned out to be the epic super over from Narine in the CPL all those years ago.
The first ball was on the leg stump of Pooran, who went for the slog sweep only to miss the ball as it crashed into the off stump. The replays showed that the ball spun across Pooran, who had no idea of the trajectory of the delivery. On the second ball, Rishabh Pant somehow got a single to be on the other end.

But the action ended in the third ball as Markram stayed back and lofted it down the ground, but failed to generate enough power as the weight was on the back leg. Rovman Powell grabbed a fine reverse cup catch along with Rinku Singh to end the innings on two runs.
With the first ball boundary through the extra cover, KKR earned their second successive win of the campaign to leave the bottom of the points table. Lucknow, meanwhile, drops down to the last position of table and need a change of approach for the team.
Lucknow continues to struggle in top order batting
It was another flop show from Lucknow’s top order, which couldn’t contribute much. Had Himmat Singh, Shami, and Ayush Badoni not tried, it could have ended quite early. They need a change of personnel in this position to change the fortune.

Kolkata was not in a great position before Rinku bailed them out of trouble with an unbeaten knock of 83 runs off 51 balls at a strike rate of 162.75, thanks to seven boundaries and five sixes to take them to 155/7.
Brief Scores: KKR 155/7 (Rishabh Pant 83*, Mohsin Khan 5/24) beat LSG 155/8 (Rishabh Pant 42, Vaibhav Arora 2/24) in super over.
