Chasing a low score of 160 runs during the second innings of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 clash against the Mumbai Indians at the MA Chidambaram Stadium at Chepauk, the Chennai Super Kings needed someone to stay till the end, along with a few small aggressive contributions inside the powerplay.

Urvil Patel showed a glimpse of what he could do even against some of the strongest bowlers inside the power play during the last edition of the competition. And this evening, he continued the same aggression from the very first ball of the knock.

Urvil Patel invents new helicopter six vs MI in IPL 2026

Generally, the helicopter six, invented by the greatest MS Dhoni, goes over the mid-on region where he goes deep into the crease and picks the slot delivery and smashes it in that region using the powerful wrist. But Urvil had something different in that shot, where he went a bit square of the wicket.

Watch the video here:

It was the last delivery of the fifth over of the innings when Krish Bhagat followed the previous short delivery with a full-length ball. The right-handed batter brought his wrists into the game and powerfully flicked it over the deep square leg for a huge six.

The Gujarat batter started the over with an over boundary. It was a short length delivery from the right-arm pacer as he looked to swing the bat over the backward square leg, as the fat edge of the ball took it over fine leg for the 84-m six.

He backed it up with a four in which the batter stood tall and swung hard to thump it over the mid-on region as the Chennai Super Kings smashed 62/2 in the powerplay.

Brief Scores: CSK 160/2 (Ruturaj Gaikwad 67*, Kartik Sharma 54* J Bumrah 1/20) beat MI- 159/7 (Naman Dhir 57, Anshul Kamboj 3/32) by eight-wickets.
