Vaibhav Sooryavanshi came into the Tri-Nation series for India A with lots of hope of doing well, having blasted the bowlers around the park in a successful Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. But he couldn’t impress with three successive failures against Sri Lanka-A and Afghanistan-A in the 50-over games.
During their third game, Sooryavanshi started aggressively but failed to convert his start into a big score, which has been his issue throughout the series, as the opposition bowlers have found a way to send back the Bihar-born.

But Sahan Arachchige finally dismissed the southpaw on 21 runs off 14 balls with the help of three boundaries and one six. This time, he went for a big drive over the covers against the tossed-up delivery. But he was beaten by the turn and sliced it in the air towards the point when Wanuja Sahan grabbed a fine catch.
