There was a massive expectation from Vaibhav Sooryavanshi during the Tri Series 2026 in Sri Lanka, including their A-side against India A and Afghanistan A. But he again failed to convert his start of 38 runs in the innings. It didn’t attract the same impression the youngster had during the recent Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026

Sooryavanshi found himself in the news for the last couple of days after his heated argument with the Sri Lanka A players went wild in the previous game. And that seemed to have an effect on the 15-year-old, who struggled to be natural despite playing the aggressive shots around the park.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi dismissed for 38 — How did he get out & who bowled him?

It could have been a five-ball duck for Sooryavanshi, who cut the short ball into the hands of the point fielder. But the third umpire refused to send the batter back into the pavilion as he felt that the ball had touched the ground while the fielder grabbed the ball.

The left-handed batter started to take advantage of the life and smashed the opposition bowlers around the ground. He nailed Abdullah Ahmadzai for one six and one boundary in the sixth over of the innings. The over boundary was a lucky one as the ball cleared the mid-on fielder, who was backtracking.

The Bihar-born also drilled Faridoon Dawoodzai for a six, which was muscled into the long-on region, forcing the umpires to change the ball. But the bowler, Faridoon Dawoodzai, had the last laugh, dismissing the batter for 38 with a short ball inside the ring.

Sooryavanshi, for India A, now has scores of 14, 44, 21, and 38 in this series, which is a total of 117 runs in four innings at an average of under 30.
