Virat Kohli’s childhood coach, Rajkumar Sharma, has expressed full confidence in the star batter ahead of India’s ODI series in Australia. According to Sharma, Kohli has already accomplished everything in international cricket and doesn’t need to prove his credentials again.
Sharma highlighted that Kohli’s preparation for the tour has been thorough and expects the former captain to deliver stellar performances. The India star will be returning to international cricket for the first time since leading the Men in Blue to Champions Trophy glory on March 9.
Although Kohli was initially slated to return to Test cricket for India’s England tour and the inaugural Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, he decided to retire from the format. In a heartfelt announcement, Kohli ended his 14-year Test career, leaving behind an unforgettable legacy and focusing on limited-overs cricket for the foreseeable future.

There has been growing discussion about Virat Kohli’s performance on Australia’s fast pitches and whether this series could mark his final international outing. Despite expressing interest in playing the 2027 World Cup, uncertainty remains over whether those plans will ultimately materialize.
Rajkumar Sharma lauded both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, emphasizing that their immense contributions to Indian cricket speak for themselves. He added that players of their stature no longer need to prove anything, having already established their legacy through consistent performances.
He further said, “ I would like to say that both of them are great players, and they have nothing left to prove, because the whole of India knows their contribution to Indian cricket, so if they have to prove themselves at this stage, then it will be a very funny thing.”
