The 18th match of the T20 World Cup 2026 is being held between defending champions India and the associate nation Namibia at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Batting first in this match, India posted a score of 209/9. A fun moment also occurred during the Indian innings, when Namibia's captain Gerhard Erasmus did a funny push-up as Hardik Pandya fell over him, the video of which is going viral on social media.

This entire incident happened in the 12th over of India's innings, which was being bowled by Namibia's captain Gerhard Erasmus himself. On the last ball of the over, batsman Shivam Dube played a shot towards the front, after which Erasmus ran to the right to catch the ball but collided with Hardik Pandya, who was at the non-striker's end. Due to the collision, Erasmus fell to the ground, and Hardik also fell on top of his back. After that, he let go of the ball and started doing push-ups. Then, playfully, Hardik nudged Erasmus, and both were seen laughing afterwards.

In this match, both Hardik Pandya and Gerhard Erasmus delivered outstanding performances. While Hardik steadied the Indian innings that looked in trouble with his explosive batting and scored his first half-century in the ongoing tournament, he made 52 runs off 28 balls at a strike rate of 185.71, including four fours and sixes. Meanwhile, Namibia's captain wreaked havoc with his bowling, which perhaps was the reason Team India fell short of posting a score of 250. Erasmus recorded figures of 4/20 in his four-over spell.

Indian batters struggle badly against Namibia's spin attack

Although India scored over 200 against Namibia, the batters were exposed against the spinners. Team India's batters appeared aggressive against fast bowlers, but struggled when it came to facing spinners. This is the reason Namibia managed to take a 40-50 run lead against India's score. India scored 147/2 in 12 overs against the fast bowlers at an economy rate of 12.25, while against the spinners, in 8 overs, they managed just 61/5 at an economy rate of 7.62.

Stats indicate that Indian batters struggled against spin. Team India is set to play their next match against Pakistan on February 15 in Colombo. In such a scenario, their team has several spin options, including Usman Tariq. If Suryakumar Yadav & company do not address the weakness against spin, they could face difficulties against their arch-rivals.
