WPL 2027 released players list ahead of WPL 2027 auction

The two-time champions, Mumbai Indians (MI), have released five Indian players and one overseas player ahead of the auction for the 2027 season of the competition. It has been reported that G Kamilini will remain unavailable during the tournament as it overlaps with the U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2027.

The Mumbai Indians, who won the very first season of the event under Harmanpreet Kaur, got their second title in 2025. Meanwhile, the Smriti Mandhana-led Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) were crowned with their second trophy in 2026 after winning their first in 2024.

MI, like UP Warriorz, have seven slots open, but they have the smallest purse available of INR 1 crore. The fifth edition of the event will be played from January 14 to February 07, with the mini-auction taking place on October 28 in Kochi.

All the teams can have a maximum of 18 players in the squad, including the six from overseas. Overall, the 27 players are to be filled on the auction day, of which seven can be overseas players.
